If our history books were only like this! E. Thomas Joseph takes American history on a wicked and disturbing journey in Winter Eternal. Historical fiction really isn't my genre, but the mixture of history and fantasy... Joseph writes it with enough prowess to grab your attention and pull you in his morbid historical tale.

Joseph’s writing flows nice and smooth. There is not a crack at creating his worded vision in your head. His cast of characters is divinely created, well rounded and written. For example, our main character Pearson is utterly the most pompous and pampered character created. You are unsure whether to root for him or wish him his demise. Overall historical fiction lovers will enjoy and indulge in this book. Especially if it could draw in a not so historical fiction lover. The author gets high praise!

Writing under the name E. Thomas Joeseph  Rahiem Jerome Brooks is the breakout novelist and is a member of the Mystery Writers of America. His debut thriller, LAUGH NOW won 2010 African-Americans on the Move Book Club's (AAMBC) Book of the Year & he earned 2011 AAMBC Author of the Year. LAUGH NOW also the Most Creative Plot at the DMV Expo's Creative Excellent Awards. Rahiem has also nominated at the 2011 & 2012 African-American Literary Awards for Mystery of the Year for Con Test and Murder in Germantown. In 2017, he launched his second publishing press, Prodigy Gold Books. The Background Story: Brooks grew up in Philadelphia before trekking to Los Angeles to study film/TV at UCLA. Finding it difficult to break into Hollywood, he adapted his screenplay into his first novel and later pursued an English degree at Harvard University and making writing a full-time job. Denisa, The Castellan's Daughter is set in the medieval-like island continent of Penruddock. When Denisa is a child, she's betrothed to Karsten, the orphaned son of friends of her parents. The sweet queen of indie romance novellas has returned wooing us with Denisa, The Castellan’s Daughter. Henry takes us on an enigmatic journey of romance in this tale.

What would you do if you were betrothed to a man you've never met, but were told fondly about only to have him vanish? That is still one-day mysterious handsome emissary comes from a faraway land delivering news your betrothed is alive but is a slave thus saying you are free to marry another. Yet you’ve dreamed of meeting him come to have affection for him! Yes, this emissary guy is nice too, and he is flirting with you.  Next only, to find out the sexy emissary and your betrothed is one in the same! Left some details out, but that sums this sweeping romance it up.

Again, Henry never fails with her poetic Austen writing style and strong women characters. Denisa is the perfection of her time all prim and proper unless you cross her then she will flat out poetically tell you like it is not caring who you are. My favorite part is where Denisa reams Karsten when she discovers his dual identity.

Denisa, the Castellan’s Daughter is an engrossing sweet romantic novella perfect for the busy person who loves books.

Thoreau's Downsizing Planner for Seniors is a wonderful write in planner workbook to help seniors, empty nesters, children or relatives of seniors, and caregivers help make this move easier through organization and planning.

While aimed for seniors, along with some Thoreau philosophy I a non-senior oddly found this book useful too. When it came to a recent move and we realized we had too many things, Baker's nice step by step guide is filled with question forms and tips in how to downsize and still remain organized. Baker touches on how we have a high emotional attachment to our things. The guide helps you ask yourself, 'do I really need to keep this item?' Should I toss it or could it be donated instead? 

The book contains actual forms you can fill out to keep you all organized. If you choose the eBook it includes the link to where you can print out the forms. A highly helpful recommended book can be useful for anyone.

While I was not securely drawn in at first Maxwell created enough of a bite to not lose your attention completely. That’s most likely thanks to our lead character Narvix. You see Narvix is your average moody teenager who just happens to have red skin and horns living in New Jersey with his adoptive family. A curious setting indeed. As you read further that tasty nibble leads you to a nice big buffet of story-telling. Navix's world erupts into chaos, and Maxwell takes the reader along with him.

Maxwell's writing is strong, along with his character development. The dialogue is sharp and witty. Maxwell's description, skills though were a bit overworked which made me think this book is more suited to be a comic book than a book. This is due to his embellished descriptive scenes of actions, sights, and people. It's how I envisioned the whole book. This book would really kick-ass if it was a comic. Overall Maxwell is onto a nice start.

A very simple, easy-to-understand-and-follow guide to drawing in 3D using colored pencils. This book offers great tips and tricks on how to create drawings that appear three-dimensional. Go through these unique, step-by-step drawing tutorials, and you'll see that it is simpler than you can imagine, and if you follow the instructions and draw patiently, you will enjoy your result and be inspired to continue.

This is a fun book! You should though have more of an artist background and experience before diving in than I did (I attached my attempts at some of the projects.). Still, this book is enjoyable making you want to keep trying at it.  This is thanks to Jasmina’s tone of the book. It is calm and cool. She makes you really feel at home with her if you mess up don’t worry and try again attitude. I would highly recommend this book for all artists that are looking to broaden their artistic skills.

SUCCESSOR is filled with action, adventure, magic, and romance all the right elements for a successful Young Adult book. Here we meet Evan (Evangeline) who is our guide in this alternate world tale. After a graduation party goes wrong and a chase from the cops and toss in a thunderstorm it lands both her and her friend in a whole different world where Evan learns she is the Successor.   

 Miles writing is smooth and easy to follow. The world Miles creates is warm and inviting to the reader just as it is for Evan. The characters are well rounded, with everyday personalities and traits, making them human and relatable faults in all. Evan’s best friend Leila is a standout. She and Evan’s relationship is a passionate, loyal friendship that guides much of Evan’s decisions throughout the book leading to the books true core message of the importance of finding yourself and where you belong.  A great book for the generations.

Dinomorphs: Back to the Beginning is pure magic filled with all the elements required for an excellent young adult book. In Dinomorphs we meet Kellen and his pack of surfing buds who are more than what they seem. In fact, they are a race of half Dino half human from a parallel earth when Dinos evolved as well as humans. The mythology of it all is explained in the book and is easy to follow.

Gray’s writing is spot on capturing the perfect tone of the teenage characters. His detail and descriptions are finely tuned, and it’s like you can actually taste the salt water in the opening surfing scene. I adored this book and would definitely rate it as a top-notch book for YA readers. Kids will dig the Dino teens.
